South Carolina suffered a 48-3 loss to Texas A&M on Saturday, the Gamecocks’ second straight loss and a humbling defeat overall.
The Gamecocks finished with 150 yards, 100 pass, 50 rushing, while the Aggies had 530 remarkably balanced yards, 266 through the air and 264 on ground. This was South Carolina’s worst conference loss since falling 56-6 to Florida in 2008.
After the game, coach Will Muschamp shared his thoughts with the media:
Muschamp: Got to whatever it takes to win games at quarterback, have to look at what they’re doing and who is doing it. #Gamecocks

Muschamp: ‘Disappointed for our fans. Hate that we didn’t do a better job.’

Muschamp: Needed to run some stretch and perimeter plays, need to have receivers block better, no disappointed in his players’ effort, thought they played hard. #Gamecocks

Muschamp: Feels if they had made some catches early in the game, that might have changed some things, Hill needs to be more accurate, they’ll make any decisions on QB after looking at film Sunday. #Gamecocks

Muschamp: They got whipped up front on offense, A&M scoring late in half was dagger, feels like this was best team they’ve played all year. #Gamecocks

Muschamp: Sent White out for that field goal late in the game to help him get his confidence that, they don’t have a 41 point play in their playbook. #Gamecocks

Muschamp: Said he hopes the fanbase is pissed off, that’s OK, first three years won more games than any other coach at USC, they are recruiting well, they’ve had two bad games back to back. #Gamecocks

Muschamp on the fan base:
“I hope they’re pissed off. After the last two performances, I don’t think there’s any doubt they should be.”

Will Muschamp on QB play: “We’ll make that evaluation tomorrow. Whatever gives us the best opportunity to win the game at whatever position it is, that’s what we’ll do.”
