Walmart PS5 Stock Is Gone After 4 Hectic Release Day Restocks – GameSpot

Update: Walmart’s PS5 stock is now completely gone after the retailer offered four different restocks on November 12, the console’s release day. While most stores restocked right at midnight ET on launch day, Walmart offered four different time slots throughout the day on Thursday: 12 PM, 3 PM, 6 PM, and 9 PM ET. Each one sold out within minutes. Even being on the page and refreshing right at the restock time led to site crashes, slow loading, and the inability to actually add the console to your cart when the button appeared. If you managed to secure a PS5 during one of these four restocks, congrats! If you didn’t, you’re not alone, and we feel your pain.

If you’re still looking to buy a PS5, your next best chance will be during Black Friday 2020. Walmart plans to restock the console online then, and GameStop stores will have a minimum of two PS5 units per location. We expect other stores will restock the PS5 during Black Friday as well. We’ll continue to track availability in our PS5 buying guide.

In the two months since the PS5 first went up for preorder, finding the console in stock has been near-impossible, but if you’re looking to buy the PS5 on launch day, there’s still a chance you can do so at Walmart. The retailer shared concrete details about when the PS5 will be available on Walmart.com today (November 12), though as of this point in the day, only one more PS5 restock time is left.

The PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition will be available to purchase at Walmart.com later today at 6 PM PT / 9 PM ET, so set your alarm now. Unfortunately, the first three restocks today came and went as soon as they appeared, with the PS5 selling out in within minutes. Even being on the page and refreshing right at the restock time led to site crashes, slow loading, and the inability to actually add the console to your cart when the button appeared. It doesn’t bode well for the 9 PM ET restock, but it’s worth a shot if you haven’t been able to secure the console so far. We suggest making sure your Walmart account and payment information is up to date beforehand to help checkout go smoothly, but a good deal of luck is needed as well.

Walmart also had the Xbox Series X/S available for online purchase on Tuesday, but only one time slot was available, and (unsurprisingly) stock sold out fast.

If you miss out on the launch day restock for either console, the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S will be available to buy in GameStop stores during Black Friday, though stock will be extremely limited.

We’re tracking availability for both consoles in our PS5 buying guide and Xbox Series X buying guide, so stay tuned. You can also follow us on Twitter @GameSpotDeals for the latest updates. In the meantime, check out our PS5 review and Xbox Series X review for more details and impressions.
