Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Z Fold 2 receive December security update – SamMobile

Samsung began rolling out the December 2020 security patch earlier today, with the Galaxy S9 series and the Galaxy S20 FE being among the first to receive it. But the day is not over yet and Samsung is now rolling out the December 2020 security update for the Galaxy Note 10 as well as the Galaxy Z Fold 2.

The latest update for the Galaxy Note 10 carries firmware version N97xFXXS6DTK8 and it’s rolling out in numerous European countries including Bulgaria, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania, and Switzerland. The Galaxy Z Fold 2, model number SM-F916B, is now getting firmware version F916BXXS1BTK1 in Germany. The package weighs around 172MB.

As usual, Samsung began the December 2020 security update rollout before it had revealed the changelog. This is due to security reasons as the company doesn’t want to detail any potential exploits that have been addressed by the recent update until it’s widely spread to more devices and customers.

Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Z Fold 2 owners in regions where the update is available should be able to download it by opening Settings on their phones, accessing Software update and tapping Download and install. SamMobile readers can also refer to our firmware archive, download the latest update and install it manually using a Windows PC.
