Ugh. Another graphics card launch, another dose of disappointment.

This morning, Nvidia released the RTX 3060 Ti. But like the rest of the RTX 3000 series, the next-generation graphics card sold out in minutes.

Newegg.com began selling the RTX 3060 Ti units at 6 a.m. PST. However, our attempts to search for the card on the retailer’s website initially came up with nothing. It was only at 6:05 a.m. when we found links to the RTX 3060 Ti card on Newegg, thanks to users on social media. But by then, the units were sold out.

Attempts to add the products to our cart gave us an error. Then by 6:12 a.m., Newegg’s search results showed that all the RTX 3060 Ti stock was gone.

After that, we waited for Best Buy to kick off the graphic cards sales. On the retailer’s website, all the RTX 3060 Ti units were initially listed as “coming soon.” Then by 7:26 a.m., we noticed Best Buy finally made the product available for purchase.

Success? Not quite. We were able to add a Founders Edition RTX 3060 Ti unit to our cart and reach the checkout process. Unfortunately, we couldn’t complete the order. Best Buy was only selling the product for in-store pickup, and no stock was available within 250 miles of our location.

That said, others on social media had better luck buying the graphics card from Best Buy.

Meanwhile, Amazon hasn’t begun any sales of the RTX 3060 Ti. B&H Photo simply lists the products as coming soon.

The other group that had some success buying the graphics card are scalpers. On eBay, you can find them already hawking the product for $750 to $799, or about twice the normal price.

If you missed out on the graphics card, we feel your pain. We’ve struck out on day-one sales for the RTX 3070, the RTX 3090, and AMD’s Radeon RX 6800 releases. The good news is that retailers are routinely receiving new units. To learn about the product restocks, we recommend you try an inventory-checking service, which helped us snag an RTX 3070 last month.
