Wiseman reveals favorite play from first Warriors practice – NBC Sports Bay Area

James Wiseman on Monday participated in Warriors practice for the first time.

What was his best moment out there?

“Screening for Steph [Curry] — he made that 3,” Wiseman said Monday afternoon. “Which was dope.”

That’s a simple and awesome answer from the No. 2 overall pick in last month’s NBA draft.

Before Wiseman spoke to the media, Steve Kerr described a couple plays from Wiseman that impressed him.

“He made several great screens. He seems to be a very natural screen setter,” the Warriors’ coach said. “A couple screens and dives to the rim where he opened up wide-open shooters on the weak side.

“He did it twice in a row during our drill work.”

Any particular mistake that stood out to the rookie?

“I kind of missed a call on a defensive scheme, but I got back,” Wiseman explained. “I had huge energy so it really didn’t even seem like I made a mistake.

“Just trying to use my length and my athleticism.”

Lastly, here is video of Draymond Green throwing a lob to Wiseman.

Wiseman will not play in the Warriors’ preseason game Tuesday night against the Kings, but Kerr left the door open for the 7-foot-1 center to suit up Thursday night in Sacramento.
