The Seahawks wrapped up their tour of the NFC East on Sunday with a win over the red-hot Washington Football team, snapping their four game winning streak.
One running back made his return after over a year, while another suffered what appeared to be a serious injury. All that and more, below.
- With Mike Iupati battling through various injuries all season, it has been common for Jordan Simmons to spell him for a series or two in games. This time, Simmons was forced into full-time action with Iupati suffering a neck injury, with the split finishing at 77% for Simmons and 23% for Iupati.
- With Greg Olsen’s return from I.R. looming, it was Jacob Hollister who paced the tight ends in snaps on Sunday. Hollister played 70% of snaps, just edging out Will Dissly’s 65%. Rookie Colby Parkinson continues to ease into the offense, playing 14% of the offense’s snaps.
- Chris Carson again carried the bulk of the work in Seattle’s backfield in Washington, playing 70% of snaps. Carlos Hyde, at 18%, saw the majority of snaps when Carson came out. Rashaad Penny, in his return from a knee injury suffered last December, played 11% of offensive snaps and carried the ball twice for six yards.
- A game-time decision heading into Sunday, Carlos Dunlap played 32% of defensive snaps in a situational pass rusher role. That didn’t stop him from making his presence felt, however, as he sacked Dwayne Haskins on Washington’s second-to-last play of the game.
- Finally, Alton Robinson, who has been largely anonymous over the last couple of months, had a solid role on Sunday, playing 30% of the defense’s snaps and finishing with a sack and a forced fumble.
