A significant PS5 console restock went live on Amazon US earlier today.
This caught shoppers by surprise, with no prior announcement made by Amazon.
This was the first major Amazon US stock drop since the release date on November 12th.
It’s estimated the console was snapped up by thousands of shoppers. Most of the orders are shown to be due for delivery between December 30th 2020 and January 5th 2021.
Unfortunately, the majority of shoppers arrived late. Although the site still stated the PS5 was in-stock, they received an error message when trying to add it to the basket.
This is shown when the product is already out of stock in the inventory, but the front-end of the site hasn’t updated.
How Long Did The Amazon US Restock Last?
The PS5 Disc Edition was in-stock just after 11AM EST and lasted just 9 minutes before they were all gone. It came back in-stock again just before 4PM EST, hanging around for only a minute.
Meanwhile, the PS5 Digital Edition was in-stock just before 12PM EST and lasted only 2 minutes.
Either edition of the PS5 was only available for a maximum of 12 minutes. This comes as no surprise given how quickly the PS5 has been selling out at other retailers.
When Will the PS5 Be Back in-Stock on Amazon US?
There has been no official announcement from Amazon regarding PS5 re-stocks.
However, a reliable insider has suggested the will be more re-stocks throughout January 2021. Coupled with a major supply increase from Sony early in the year.
