Browns safety Ronnie Harrison activated off IR; facility reopened for practice after 2 positive COVID-19 tests – cleveland.com

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Browns got some good news on Thursday amid all of their COVID-19 strife.

They activated Ronnie Harrison off injured reserve/designated for return with his shoulder injury, meaning he’ll likely play against the Steelers on Sunday in their ‘win-and-in’ game. He’s missed the past four games and the Browns have missed him.

They can certainly use Harrison considering free safety Andrew Sendejo has been ruled out after presumably testing positive for COVID-19, and Karl Joseph has been placed on the reserve list as a high-risk close contact.

The Browns reopened their facility at 3:30 Wednesday afternoon after a practice squad center Javon Patterson and a coach tested positive for COVID-19. The coach won’t be on the field for Sunday’s game because he must isolate for a minimum of 10 days. They conducted an indoor practice at 4:30 p.m., which was closed to the media because of COVID-19 protocols.

Browns right guard Wyatt Teller (high ankle sprain) also practiced Wednesday is has a good chance of playing on Sunday. Stefanski said he’s also hoping to get Jedrick Wills Jr. back from his illness, which cost him Sunday’s 23-16 loss to the Jets.

If all goes as hoped, the five high-risk contacts of B.J. Goodson (positive for COVID-19) will be back on the field on Thursday and available for the game. They are Jarvis Landry, Rashard Higgins, Donovan Peoples-Jones, KhaDarel Hodge and Jacob Phillips.

Harrison Bryant and Karl Joseph, also close contacts, could be back by Saturday.

Three Browns players sat out Wednesday: linebackers Tae Davis (ankle) and Sione Takitaki (ankle) and offensive linemen Nick Harris (knee).
