D.J. Williams is reuniting with his former offensive coordinator at Florida State.
Williams, who entered the transfer portal earlier this week, announced on Saturday night that he has committed to FSU. Williams will be reuniting with Kenny Dillingham, who served as Auburn’s offensive coordinator in 2019 when Williams was a freshman. Dillingham is currently the Seminoles’ offensive coordinator on Mike Norvell’s staff.
Williams rushed for 199 yards and three touchdowns in nine games this season while battling injuries for much of the year. As a freshman, the former four-star prospect out of Sebring, Fla., rushed for 400 yards and a pair of touchdowns and was the Tigers’ second-leading rusher.
Williams’ departure leaves Auburn with two scholarship running backs on the roster — freshman star Tank Bigsby and junior Shaun Shivers.
