Dan Le Batard, former ESPN boss John Skipper to create new sports content company – USA TODAY

Former ESPN radio host Dan Le Batard will team up with his former boss, ex-ESPN president John Skipper, to launch a sports content company in the ensuing weeks, according to a report from the Sports Business Journal

The unnamed venture would likely attempt to sell a show hosted by Le Batard to SiriusXM, Spotify or iHeartRadio before hiring a team of editors and reporters devoted to sports, according to Sports Business Journal.

The 52-year-old Le Batard and Skipper have close ties dating back to their ESPN working relationship. Le Batard, hired by Skipper in 2011, cried on air when Skipper left ESPN in 2017. Skipper currently holds a role as an executive chair of DAZN Group.

Dan Le Batard left ESPN on Jan. 4.

Le Batard concluded his time at ESPN once his TV show, “Highly Questionable,” ended on Jan. 4. He has since launched a podcast, “Dan Le Batard Show With Stugotz,” that ranked atop iTunes’ top sports podcasts in the first week. Last summer Le Batard drew national headlines following his comments condemning discriminatory comments made by President Donald Trump
