It was quite a surprise when CD Projekt Red first announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition was coming to Switch in 2019. Including both expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, we were amazed that it all fit onto one game card. If you were looking for just the base game though, that option wasn’t previously available. Until now.

Launched to seemingly no fanfare, you can now buy Witcher 3: Wild Hunt alone for £29.99 from the Switch eShop. Players that already own the Complete Edition can redeem it for free, a move we suspect is designed to stop people accidentally buying this twice.

If you later decide that you want the individual DLCs, those are available separately, too. Hearts of Stone will cost you £8.99, whilst Blood and Wine is going for £17.99. Altogether, that’s more expensive than the Complete Edition at £56.97, but this method at least allows you to spread out the cost.
