For Florida State, there isn’t a ton of business remaining for their 2021 recruiting class. Head coach Mike Norvell and company signed 16 high school and junior college prospects in December, while also adding eight transfers by mid-January. Seven of those eight transfers have signed and enrolled, with Kansas wide receiver Andrew Parchment being the lone exception. So FSU sits at 24 commitments, with 23 prospects signed, entering National Signing Day on Wednesday. For a full look at the commitment list, click here.
FSU’s class ranks No. 30 in the nation (list here) and No. 6 in the Atlantic Coast Conference (list here) entering Wednesday.
The Seminoles could add up to two more prospects on Wednesday. Here is who we are keeping an eye on:
The primary name to know is New Orleans (La.) Edna Karr four-star wide receiver Destyn Hill. Hill, who previously went by the last name Pazon during the cycle, has been FSU’s top wide receiver target throughout the 2021 cycle. He was offered by the Seminoles in January of 2020, took multiple unofficial visits to Tallahassee and has been thought to be leaning the way of the Seminoles throughout the process. The 247Sports.com Crystal Ball reads 100% for FSU, with the entire staff of Noles247.com having entered a prediction, among others. Hill, who is ranked by the 247Sports.com Composite Rankings as the No. 112 overall prospect in the 2021 class, is expected to announce around 10:30 a.m. ET on Wednesday.
Hill would become FSU’s top-ranked commitment in the 2021 class.
Another prospect worth keeping an eye on Wednesday is Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic four-star defensive tackle Tywone Malone. FSU is considered to be in the final three for the football/baseball standout, along with Ole Miss and Texas A&M. Entering his 4 p.m. ET announcement on Wednesday, things remain uncertain regarding Malone’s future destination. The 247Sports.com Crystal Ball reads Ole Miss for the No. 62 overall prospect in the 247Sports.com Composite Recruiting Rankings.
If FSU signs just Hill on Wednesday, the expectation is that they will have one scholarship remaining to fill for the 2021 cycle. A transfer offensive tackle is the most likely target in the coming weeks and months leading up to kickoff in September.
