ACCORDING TO A STATEMENT OBTAINED BY ESPN, A KCPD OFFICER SAID BRITT REID’S EYES WER BLOODSHOT, AFTER HE CRASHED INTO A CAR THAT HAD RUN OUT OF GAS THE SIDE OF THE ROAD NEAR ARROWHEAD STADIUM THURSDAY NIGHT. REID TOLD THE OFFICER HE HAD TWO OR THREE DRINKS AND TOOK PRESCRIPTION ADDERALL. A FIVE-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN THE BA SEAT OF ONE OF THE CARS WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED AND RUSHED TO THE HOSPITAL REID WAS ALSO HURT. THE CHIEFS RELEASED A STATEMENT YESTERDAY FOLLOWING THE CRASH, SAYING THE TEAM IS GATHERI INFORMATION, AND THEIR THOUGHTS ARE WITH THE FAMILY. POLICE SAID TODAY CHARGES HAVE NOT BEEN FILED IN THE CASE, BU DRIVER IMPAIRMENT IS STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION. A GoFundMe page has been created to raise money for the family of the young girl who was critically injured in a crash involving Chiefs assistant coach Britt Reid, son of head coach Andy Reid. The child’s aunt set up the fundraising site and says 5-year-old Ariel suffered severe brain trauma and has not woken up since being admitted to the hospital Thursday night. She is still listed in critical condition. The GoFundMe page says Ariel’s mother went to help her cousin who ran out of gas near I-435 and Stadium Drive. While helping her cousin, a Ram pickup truck driven by Reid crashed into their vehicles on the side of the road.
