Two months after Ellen DeGeneres revealed she had battled the deadly corona virus, she’s obviously now ready to mingle.
The 63-year old talk show host showed up at noon sharp in the Upper Village of Montecito, California for what was either a lunch or coffee meeting on Thursday.
After unsuccessfully scanning the parking lot for her date, she used the upstairs restroom at Pierre LaFond & Co and emerged on the phone.
‘Ah, okay, okay, another time then, no, no problem,’ she was overheard saying into her iPhone, trying to seem upbeat.
Ellen looked dejected after her lunch companion failed to show up in Montecito last Thursday. Despite once being a model for the Cover Girl brand, Ellen went makeup free for the casual meeting, donning a protective face mask, messy short hair, a wrinkled blue linen shirt and matching slacks

The person on the other end had obviously canceled, catching her off guard.
The Upper Village has many restaurants and a high-end coffee shop so it is unclear where the meeting was to occur.
Ellen was later seen walking alone several blocks back to her black Porsche Panamera and driving off.

A Montecito local tells the DailyMail.com ‘This is Ellen’s normal look when she’s here, nothing fancy. No one approaches her to pose for a picture or get an autograph, she doesn’t send out that welcoming vibe.’
Contrast that to the reception that famed other Montecito local Oprah Winfrey, 67, receives.
‘Oprah on the other hand gets people yelling from cars, waving ‘hi’, wanting hugs and selfies. It’s like the tale of two talk show hosts.’
DailyMail.com revealed that Ellen’s image took a major hit last year when it was revealed that behind the scenes she’s been dubbed ‘mean,’ and credited for creating a toxic ‘don’t look her in the eyes’ work environment on her long running talk show.
Ellen has reportedly apologized to her staff and chalked much of her behavior up to ‘being an introvert,’ and wanting her own space that may have been ‘misconstrued’ by her staff.
‘I’m a multi-layered person, and I try to be the best person I can be and learn from my mistakes,’ she said.

The negative press has led to a decline in The Ellen Show’s ratings after dominating the market for nearly two decades.
In December, it was revealed that American Idol alum Kelly Clarkson’s talk show in its sophomore year gained 10% to earn a 1.1 national Nielsen rating for live-plus-same day.
That same month Ellen’s talk show declined 8% in ratings to 1.1, after the comedian contracted Covid-19.
