According to a recent leak UK retailer Argos will have fresh PS5 stock either today or tomorrow. We reported a potential huge PS5 restock in the UK earlier this week, but now it appears that the rumours were correct.
A new tweet from an industry insider shows the retailer’s PS5 restock is all but confirmed. Twitter user ps5ukstock3 has been following the leaks and is updating Twitter users periodically.
The leaker has produced photographic evidence and much more to lend weight to their report. At this point, we believe it’s genuine and that Argos will reveal their PS5 stock soon.
It seems likely that the PS5 stock at Argos will go on sale today or tomorrow. Or Argos could wait for Monday morning. Basically, it could be anytime now.
However, there are fears that this PS5 restock may be targeted by scalpers – like the last Argos restock.
Will the Argos PS5 Stock Update Avoid Scalpers?
Last time Argos had a major PS5 restock, scalpers used a loophole to buy up a significant portion of the consoles. What was most frustrating, is that Argos knew about this the night before – but took no action to prevent it.
This was according to another leak from an Argos employee, a matter of hours before the PS5 stock went on sale. It is hoped that this will not happen again, and that the retailer has learned its lesson.
Scalpers are likely to target this restock too, but hopefully this time, Argos are prepared to scupper their efforts. This way regular consumers may finally be able to secure a PS5.
Like the US, the UK has had its own issues with PS5 scalpers – so much so that the UK government is exploring options to tackle them.
Although according to this scalper group, they are not the bad guys we think they are. Yeh we’re not convinced either.
