We must quickly make room before Dan walks in the door
Street Fighter 5 is still technically going through its largest drought without a balance update in over a year with Champion Edition’s launch, but that’s going to be changing very soon.
Season 5 is going to drop the new V-Shift mechanic and a slew of other changes on us later tonight / tomorrow, so before that, let’s take a look at how the final tier lists for Season 4 ended up in comparison to where we were last year.
The EventHubs community tier list for SF5 has been fairly consistent with its top two for a while now with Akuma and Urien sitting high and mighty, but they end the year only on a .2 difference between them.
This is quite the shake up from where we were when Rashid and Karin ruled the school at the end of Arcade Edition’s run though both slipped quite a bit with the Kanzuki heir barely cracking the top 10 still.
Not many players pegged Poison as a dominant character in SF5 until iDom’s huge Capcom Cup win in 2019, but she’s garnered a lot more respect now after making it up to number seven overall.
It is Birdie, however, who seems to have fallen the furthest from grace considering he was top five at the end of Season 3 and barely cracking top 20 now after his nerfs and many players no longer using him as a solo main.
As for the two characters to join SF5 with the Champion Edition update, Seth slowly climbed the ranks to end up in 14th place, which is really low compared to where most of the pros place them, but Gill has seen pretty much the opposite trajectory downwards.
Where the game is going to go in Season 5 is pretty much anyone’s guess still, but most can probably agree that there’s likely to be some big changes on the horizon once the new update is in place.
With this fresh start for SF5, the EH tier list will also be doing the same, so you can start voting on your match up knowledge when comfortable to do so.
