LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB)– A Louisville intermediate school principal was among the 87 protesters who were jailed Tuesday throughout a presentation at the home of Kentuckys chief law officer.
Dr. Jeronda Majors, principal at Knight Middle School, was arrested on charges consisting of criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and frightening a participant in a legal procedure, which is a felony.
Jefferson County Public Schools spokesperson Renee Murphy said the district knew the matter however declined to respond to questions from WDRB News about whether Majors had actually been disciplined.
In a declaration Wednesday, Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Jessie Halladay said officers started felony charges against the protesters at Camerons house in part since they chanted that “if they didnt get what they want they would burn it down.”.
Majors was called principal of Knight Middle School in February. She began her career with the district and has actually stayed for almost 20 years, the district said in a news release in February. She got her undergraduate degree from Howard University, her masters from the University of Kentucky and her doctorate in leadership education from Spalding University.
