The Cleveland Cavaliers decided in February that enough is enough. No longer is Andre Drummond a part of the team’s rotation after the team has committed to building around Jarrett Allen as their future at the center position. Drummond is one of the top names to watch in NBA trade rumors.
Washington is once again one of the worst teams in the league. At 13-19, the Wizards are near the basement in the East. In the offseason, they made headlines when they acquired Russell Westbrook from the Houston Rockets in exchange for John Wall.
So far, the move has not worked out. Both Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal are putting up big individual numbers but this has not translated to success because of their lack of depth, especially in the frontcourt. This is where a player like Drummond would be beneficial.

Drummond was originally sent to Cleveland from the Detroit Pistons prior to the shutdown last season. The two sides were originally engaging in extension talks but they halted during quarantine and have not began.
This means the Cavaliers could look to trade Drummond in the final year of his contract. Drummond and Kevin Love have been two big names featured in NBA trade rumors to this point in the season. As we get closer to the NBA All-star break, Cleveland could have something up their sleeve.
It will be a story to keep an eye on. Here is a deal that could land Drummond in Washington this season.
