My brand-new nighttime routine is to hand-wash the days stack of face masks in the sink (hashtag normal things we perform in 2020), however if I wasnt hanging them just so, they would not be dry the next day– and wearing a wet face mask is a certain no-no if you want it to be remotely effective. I kept in mind the strange, clip-laden hangers we utilized to utilize to dry diaper covers back in our cloth diapering days.
Back then, we were doing daily loads of laundry filled with plastic-lined reusable diaper covers that could not enter the clothes dryer, so we selected up a circular hanger covered in plastic clothespins that permitted us to hang whatever up without using up all the space on our shower drape rod. At the time, I foolishly assumed these hangers were made particularly for drying diaper covers, however they are really meant to dry all sort of small delicates you d rather exempt to the torture of a wash/dry cycle– and they work simply as well for face masks as they do underclothing.

There are a lot of these devices offered online (weve got this one), however you can approximate the same effect with a couple of routine wall mounts and a package of curtain clips, or perhaps binder clips (see above image).
The World Health Organization recommends washing masks when a day, and the fabric masks I purchased define they can be cleaned in a washing maker approximately 15 times. The Centers for Disease Control recommends that hand-washing with cleaning agent (and ideally in hot water) must sufficiently decontaminate your masks, and cleaning by hand and air drying is definitely less damaging to your clothes than constantly cooking them in the dryer at high heat. The sink + clippy hanger option seems like a wise alternative, then– especially if you dont want to pull out your salad spinner.
