Packers awarded three compensatory draft picks – Packers.com

GREEN BAY – The Packers were awarded three compensatory picks Wednesday for the upcoming NFL Draft.

Green Bay will receive extra picks at the end of the fourth, fifth and sixth rounds as a result of the team’s net losses in free agency from the prior year.

The pick at the end of the fourth round will be No. 143 overall. The one at the end of the fifth is the first compensatory for that round at No. 178 overall, and the sixth-rounder is No. 220 overall.

The Packers’ three additional selections will give them 10 picks in the 2021 draft, slated for April 29-May 1. Green Bay has its usual pick in each of the seven rounds, plus the three compensatories.

The three extra picks are the result of losing Bryan Bulaga, Blake Martinez, Kyler Fackrell and B.J. Goodson in free agency, while gaining only Devin Funchess, who opted out and did not play in 2020 due to the pandemic.

The Packers’ three compensatory picks tied for the second most awarded in the NFL this year. The Falcons also received three, while only the Cowboys got more, with four.

Since the compensatory system was instituted in 1994, the Packers have now received the third most picks league-wide with 45, tied with the Patriots. The Ravens (53) and Cowboys (47) top the all-time list.
