The New York Jets might want to trade quarterback Sam Darnold.
The Seattle Seahawks might be forced to do the same with QB Russell Wilson.
ESPN NFL analyst Dan Orlovsky knows how he can kill two birds with one stone: a blockbuster three-way trade.
Monday on “Get Up,” Orlovsky pitched the following deal:
Chicago Bears: Get QB Russell Wilson
New York Jets: Get LB Khalil Mack, second-round pick, CB Kyle Fuller or WR Allen Robinson
Seattle Seahawks: Get QB Sam Darnold, three first-round draft picks
In this scenario, Orlovsky had the Jets holding on to the lesser of their 2021 first-round draft picks, No. 23 overall. That’s one of three caveats Orlovsky stated for his proposal.
Ok for clarity here:
– The point is the @ChicagoBears aren’t going to get Russ unless they bring a 3rd team into picture
– Jets keep #2 pick this year
– Would Seattle do it? I dunno but their QBs agent gave the team names for a reason …
Wilson has said he is willing to accept a trade to one of four teams: the Bears, New Orleans Saints, Dallas Cowboys and Las Vegas Raiders.
The Cowboys came off the board last week when Dallas signed quarterback Dak Prescott to a four-year, $160 million deal.
The Saints are ready to move forward with Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill following Drew Brees’ retirement.
The Raiders seem happy to roll with incumbent Derek Carr at quarterback. That leaves the Bears as the most likely destination for Wilson, if the Seahawks are willing to part with the seven-time Pro Bowl selection and former Super Bowl champion.
