The New York Giants continued their wild free agency spending spree on Tuesday night, signing three more players, including two former teammates of Logan Ryan and Adoree’ Jackson.
The Giants also added to their already packed tight end room, officially signing Cole Hikutini.
The 26-year-old Hikutini (6-foot-4, 240 pounds) originally signed with the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Louisville in 2017. He later made stops with the Minnesota Vikings and Dallas Cowboys. In total, Hikutini has appeared in four career games (all with the 49ers), recording two receptions for 15 yards.
The Giants also announced the additions of defensive backs Joshua Kalu and Chris Milton.
Kalu, 25, signed with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent out of Nebraska in 2018. During his three-year career in Tennessee, the 6-foot, 203-pound Kalu appeared in 28 games, recording 26 tackles, one forced fumble and one pass defensed. He was also credited with a blocked field goal in 2020.
Milton, 28, is the most experienced of the three players New York signed.
The 5-foot-11, 190-pound Milton originally signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted rookie out of Georgia in 2016. After three years with the Colts, he was claimed off of waivers by the Titans in 2019. Over his five-year NFL career, Milton has appeared in 55 games (one start), recording 36 tackles, two fumble recoveries and two passes defensed.
Hikutini, Kalu and Milton provide quality depth and competition for the Giants, and will also likely make their presence felt on special teams.
