Former Portland Trail Blazers guard Gary Trent Jr. put the Toronto Raptors past the Washington Wizards with a Lillard-esque buzzer beater on Monday. Trent, who was traded to Toronto from Portland just before the deadline, put the finishing touch on the Raptors’ 103-101 win over the Wizards.
In the game’s final seconds, Trent corralled Raul Neto’s miss and turned it into a three-pointer on the other end just before the buzzer. In case you missed it, here is a closer look at Trent’s big shot:
Trent’s heroics garnered praise from his former teammates. Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum and Jusuf Nurkic all made it a point to pay respect to Trent on social media.
Trent finished the night with 16 points, two assists and two rebounds. In six games with the Raptors, Trent is averaging 16.7 points per game.
