Aaron Rodgers has had a Hall of Fame career with the Green Bay Packers, but it’s possible that his time with one of the NFL’s most storied franchises is coming to an end.
Sources have told ESPN that Rodgers is so disgruntled with the organization that he’s considering the unthinkable — leaving Green Bay. Rodgers, 37, is still under contract with the Packers, so they’d have to agree to trade him, and by the looks of it they don’t want to do that. Rodgers remains one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, with three MVP awards, nine Pro Bowl selections, and a Super Bowl title and MVP award under his belt. He’d instantly make any NFL team a contender, but his price would be steep, and that’s assuming he doesn’t come to some kind of understanding with the Packers in the meantime — or decide to retire and perhaps pursue hosting “Jeopardy!” full time.
It’s an evolving situation and anything could happen, so here’s the latest news and rumors on this potentially league-altering story from our NFL reporters and experts.

The ‘foreseeable future’ can now be defined as ‘2021 and beyond’ per Packers’ prez Mark Murphy.
None of that matters if Aaron Rodgers follows through on what he has told some in & out of the organization that he will not return to the team.

Packers continue to insist they will not trade QB Aaron Rodgers.
Here’s the math if they do:
🏈 Rodgers currently counts $37.2 million against cap.
🏈 If traded today, he counts $38.35M against cap.
🏈 If traded after June 1, he’s $21.15M against cap this year, $17.2M next year https://t.co/nllVKk6it2— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) April 30, 2021

When Rodgers said last May “my sincere desire to start and finish with the same organization… may not be a reality,” seemed he was putting on the onus on the GBP to re-commit to him.
Sounds like he doesn’t even want that anymore.

There never has been an NFL MVP traded after winning the award in the previous season. The only MVPs not to return to their team in the season after winning the award were Norm Van Brocklin (retired after winning MVP in 1960) and Jim Brown (retired after winning MVP in 1965). https://t.co/hH8kZfuI0A
