The highly anticipated survival horror game Resident Evil Village has finally made its way to consoles. Featuring returning characters Ethan Winters and Chris Redfield, it seems the fan-favorite character Ada Wong was set to make an appearance but ended getting cut.
The Trauma Pack DLC, which players received for purchasing the Collector’s, Deluxe, or Complete Editions of Resident Evil Village, includes some concept art galleries. Titled “The Tragedy of Ethan Winters Artwork,” Ada is seen donning a black plague doctor-inspired outfit and armed with a crossbow. This is a pretty big departure from the red dress she is typically known for.

The caption attached to the concept art does explain why Ada was left out of Resident Evil Village. “Early plans had a mysterious masked person that saves Ethan,” states the caption. “This was going to be Ada Wong investigating the village, but this was cut due to a number of conflicting scenarios.”
Another piece of concept art also shows Ada in action as she was to save Ethan in an early part of the game. “An early plot point was to have Ada, disguising herself with a mask, help Ethan escape from his trial.” You can check out all the images in the gallery below.
Resident Evil Village is the sequel to 2017’s Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. Players take control of Ethan Winters as he travels to a European village to save his kidnapped daughter. It also features a very tall witch that everyone is very infatuated with.
Resident Evil Village is out now for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series consoles, Xbox One, and PC.
