Todd Frazier gets in ugly spat with radio host after Pirates release: Absolute slob – New York Post

Todd Frazier’s departure from the Pirates featured a not-safe-for-work clash with a Pittsburgh sports-talk host.

Frazier was designated for assignment on Monday, and the former Yankees and Mets third baseman quickly got into a profanity-laced social-media spat with local radio host Mark Madden

“Hey, @FlavaFraz21 …happy [f–king] trails, you scrub. DFA’d. Now GFY,” Madden tweeted, using Frazier’s Twitter handle and the internet slang for “go f–k yourself.”

The 35-year-old Frazier, who had just three hits in 35 at-bats (.086) for the Pirates this season, took the bait and responded by mocking Madden’s weight.

“Funny that this slob, I mean absolute slob is talking s–t,” the New Jersey product quote-tweeted. “Go grab another hot dog. Please look yourself in the mirror my goodness. You wouldn’t dare say this to my face FLOUNDER. love your nickname btw. This picture tells it all. And to think people take you serious. GTFOH [Get the f–k outta here].”

Madden, a 60-year-old sports-talk host who does an afternoon show on local station 105.9 The X, fired back by taking a shot at Frazier’s batting average.

“That’s a solid hit. Rare for you,” Madden tweeted. “I’d gladly say it to your face. The Pirates could use the attendance. Bat-shaming  > fat-shaming. I was here before you got here, & here after you’re gone…& it didn’t take too [f–king] long. Cut by the Pirates. I’ve had career lows. Not that low.”

Frazier was DFA’d by the Pirates before Monday’s game against the Reds, his original major-league organization, to create a roster spot for outfielder Ben Gamel, who was claimed off waivers from Cleveland.
