November 15th, 2021 marks the 20th anniversary of Xbox, and to celebrate, Microsoft has launched a new range of Xbox commemorative merchandise in the Xbox Gear Shop, is giving out some free anniversary-themed wallpapers, and more.
Over on Xbox Wire, Major Nelson says today marks the beginning of the festivities and that there’s more to come throughout the year. To start, Microsoft has launched its “first wave” of Xbox 20th Anniversary official gear, which can be found in the Xbox Gear Shop. This year also marks the 20th anniversary of the Halo franchise, and Microsoft is dishing out some free Halo and Xbox 20th anniversary-themed wallpapers. That’s not all: Microsoft will be holding a special Twitch stream today (11am PT / 2pm ET), where the Xbox team will “reminisce about two decades of gaming” while playing Halo: Combat Evolved via the Halo: Master Chief Collection. Also, make sure you register for Xbox FanFest to participate in some special 20th Anniversary FanFest activities.

Interestingly, Major Nelson also revealed that Xbox gamers have unlocked nearly one trillion Gamerscore in total since achievements launched back in 2005. Here on TA, we’ve tracked exactly 45,395,658,820 of that one trillion Gamerscore (at the time of writing).
