We’re just days away from what promises to be a blockbuster UFC 264 pay-per-view, but there was plenty of excitement this past weekend even without any major MMA events.
Fighters and MMA personalities from all across the world celebrated July 4 Independence Day weekend with friends, family, and in the case of Conor McGregor, what looked to be a legion of fans excited to see the former two-division champion back on U.S. soil.
McGregor, who is currently in Las Vegas as he prepares to fight rival Dustin Poirier in a headlining trilogy bout on Saturday, was just one of many foreign fighters who let their love for America be known. UFC champions Amanda Nunes and Francis Ngannou also showed how much they appreciate the land of opportunity, as did several others from around the world who have made their home in the U.S. or had the opportunity to compete there.
And of course, there were plenty of American fighters who flew the flag as well.
See how the MMA world celebrated this most patriotic of weekends.
I love you so much America that I’m naming my daughter after you. As an immigrant son I know the value of living the American dream. Happy 4th of July everybody pic.twitter.com/eKDy4gLnYR
