THE STREAK IS DEAD! NO 2012 REPEAT! 11 STRAIGHT LOSSES WAS PLENTY!
OK. Things are still pretty dire overall, and the sell-off is coming, but for tonight, at least the Cubs’ losing streak is over. And on a night when they were facing Zack Wheeler, too!
The bats were humming tonight with hit after hit after hit, and they had a particularly nice night with runners in scoring position:

Alec Mills pitched extremely well tonight, with his line mucked up by the boom-boom-boom in succession in the 6th – that might just be his wall. You take it right now, easily. He will not be vacating the rotation any time soon.
Your concerns lie with the two Cubs who missed most of this one with injuries – Javy Báez, a very late scratch with a jammed thumb, and Kris Bryant pulled after a few innings with a tight hamstring – and hopefully these aren’t serious issues. For lots of reasons.
Tonight, at least, we can say that the Cubs won a game for the first time in a couple weeks. OVERREACT!!!
