Last night, my wife turned to me and said, “You gotta watch this TikTok video,” which was my cue to turn away. Nothing good ever comes from watching someone’s TikTok video. “Do I have to?” I said. “I’m watching something. For work,” I added, thinking it might get me out of the obligation. “Yes, you have to. I promise it’s worth it.” It’s a TikTok video. There’s no way it is worth it. “Just watch it, OK?” “GOD. Fine. Turn it on.”

Friends, it was worth it. There’s no way to convince you of that without you watching it. I would say, “Trust me,” but it’s a TikTok video. You have no reason to trust me, and every reason to walk away from this post.
But you will miss the best reason I have ever seen for the existence of TikTok. I have quoted this song at least 20 times this morning, and it was appropriate every single time. Here’s the TikTok link. Here’s a YouTube video.

His name is Tom Cardy. This video has 6.2 million views, so chances are many of you have already seen it. That’s OK. You can watch it again. It is art.
