Damian Lillard, Team USA Open Exhibition Schedule Saturday – Blazers Edge

Team USA opens its five-game exhibition schedule on Saturday against Nigeria. Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard is set to take center stage in tonight’s matchup. Along with Lillard and the rest of the roster for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reported that three players were added to the process for this week’s slate of games.

According to Windhorst, Pistons forward Saddiq Bey, Spurs wing Keldon Johnson and Cavs guard Darius Garland will join Team USA camp for this week.

With just nine available players, Team USA promoted seven players, including three NBA players, from its Select Team for five exhibition games over the next week.

Saddiq Bey of the Detroit Pistons, Darius Garland of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Keldon Johnson of the San Antonio Spurs will be available for minutes if needed starting with Saturday night’s game against Nigeria in Las Vegas.

In the event one of the national team players can’t make it to Tokyo — three players are currently competing in the NBA Finals — these three would be candidates to make the national team.

NBC Sports is broadcasting all five of Team USA’s exhibition games. Tonight’s game gets underway at 5:00 p.m. PT.
