Zach Davies was laboring right out of the gate, and didn’t make it five innings. The conditions weren’t great for control, I’m sure, but Kwang-Hyun Kim didn’t seem to have an issue. A disappointing outing for a guy who we’d all like to see pitching capably as a back-end starter this month.
Adam Morgan and Dan Winkler gave up bombs to put the game out of reach, and while the Cubs crowded the bases from time to time, they didn’t score.
