UFC Vegas 32 has taken a hit ahead of Saturday’s card.
UFC officials revealed on Thursday that the fight between Aspen Ladd and Macy Chiasson will no longer be happening at the event due to an injury. The promotion did not specify which fighter suffered the injury, but a person with knowledge of the shift told MMA Fighting that Chiasson was forced to withdraw.
Ladd was scheduled to make her first appearance since a third-round TKO win over Yana Kunitskaya in December 2019. The 26-year-old suffered a torn ACL and MCL prior to her scheduled matchup with Sara McMann in June 2020 and had recovered from the injury. Ladd is 4-1 since signing with the promotion, which includes stoppage wins over Lina Lansberg and Tonya Evinger.
Chiasson holds victories in her previous two appearances in fights against Shanna Young and Marion Reneau. The No. 9 ranked fighter in MMA Fighting’s Global Rankings has won five of six octagon appearances, including a second-round submission of Pannie Kianzad to win The Ultimate Fighter Season 28.
With the removal of the 135-pound bout, UFC Vegas 32 will move forward with 11 fights, including the main event between bantamweights Cory Sandhagen and T.J. Dillashaw.
