AMD’s new RX 6600 XT graphics card launches today, as we’ve reached the card’s August 11th release date and the 2PM BST (9AM EST) release time. Our RX 6600 XT review shows that AMD’s promise of a strong 1080p performer at $379/£329 is fulfilled, so expect a lot of demand. New GPUs are almost impossible to find at a good price right now, but if you visit the links below at the right time you still have a shot of picking up a shiny new RX 6600 XT in the US or UK. We’ve linked to both prebuilt systems and the cards themselves, so consider checking both categories.
So why is this card so hotly anticipated? Put simply, it brings the advancements of AMD’s bleeding-edge Big Navi GPUs like the RX 6900 XT down to an entry-level price point, targeting the high refresh rate 1080p displays that are among the most popular new purchases. The RX 6600 XT is also reasonably future-proof, thanks to HDMI 2.1 support, 8GB of VRAM and RT capabilities. It’s also slightly cheaper than Nvidia’s competing RTX 3060 Ti, which admittedly does perform better in many games but remains hard to find.
Though AMD’s partners will have no doubt prepared thousands of cards for sale, and the GPU’s small die size means that more cards can be made from the same amount of silicon, we still expect demand to be huge and consequently these graphics cards should sell out fast.

Where can you buy the RX 6600 XT in the US?
The RX 6600 XT is available from a wide range of major stores, which we’ve summarised in a handy table below. Stock is selling through quickly, so do check all of the links available rather than just your favourite one or two retailers. How fast is the RX 6600 XT?
The RX 6600 XT is generally faster than the RX 5700 XT while costing less, launch RRP vs launch RRP, based on our tests at 1080p, 1440p and 4K. Compared to the RX 6700 XT, the RX 6600 XT is around 83 percent of the 1080p performance for 80 percent of the price, although this narrows in CPU-limited games and widens at higher resolutions. From an older GTX 1060 or RX 580 graphics card, you’ll normally see a near-doubling of frame-rate, although this does change on a per-game basis. For more details, check our RX 6600 XT review.
The RX 6600 XT’s closest AMD competitors are the RTX 3060 and RTX 3060 Ti, which remain hard to find on the retail market. The RX 6600 XT is normally between the RTX 3060 and 3060 Ti in terms of performance, normally coming closer to the 3060 than the Ti. It also performs best at 1080p, falling away at higher resolutions, particularly 4K. The card, like other Big Navi models, can run games with RT but performance is generally behind Nvidia’s first-generation RTX cards.
What’s the RX 6600 XT price?
AMD’s official recommended retail prices for the RX 6600 XT start at $379/£329. This could increase depending on the retailer and the specification of the card, as custom versions from other partners may receive some factory overclocking to boost performance, more ports or other additions. Of course, in the current market, graphics cards may be viewed as a bargain even if they’re within £100/$100 of the RRP! So far, the pricing hasn’t looked too egregious, although that may chance in the days and weeks ahead before supply catches up with demand.
