” Instead of people reporting it, we started chasing after the infection,” Dharavi stated.
In early April, 47,500 people were tested for the virus in the citys most susceptible locations. Twenty percent of them tested positive for COVID-19 and were quarantined right now.
” That offered us a head start,” Anil Pachanekar, a personal physician and head of a regional physicians association, stated. “If [those cases] had slipped through, it would have created chaos.”
Medics stated that it took a while to persuade people in Dharavi to come forward, as they feared effects, once they discovered there was nothing to fear, the public reacted really well..
