Giga Chikadze is three-for-three on his latest bonus streak.
Chikadze was one of four fighters to receive a $50,000 post-fight bonus for his handiwork Saturday night at UFC Vegas 35. The 33-year-old Georgian crushed Edson Barboza via second-round TKO in the evening’s main event to move to 7-0 in the UFC — a performance that marked Chikadze’s third consecutive UFC knockout and post-fight bonus.
UFC president Dana White announced the Performance of the Night winners at the event’s post-fight press conference.
The three other bonus recipients were Abdul Razak Alhassan, who needed just 17 seconds to knock out Alessio Di Chirico; Gerald Meerschaert, who scored a scintillating comeback over Makhmud Muradov; and Pat Sabatini, who submitted Jamall Emmers’ with a first-round heel hook.
White also said that TUF bantamweight finalists Ricky Turcios and Brady Hiestand will be getting some extra cash sent their way for their thrilling three-round battle, which Turcios won via split decision.
“I’m going to kick them some money too,” White said. “It was a great fight, split decision, and give them a check too. It isn’t going to be $50,000 but it’ll be good. They won’t be disappointed.”
