Bengals trade former first-round pick Billy Price to Giants for B.J. Hill – The Cincinnati Enquirer

The Cincinnati Bengals traded offensive lineman and 2018 first-round draft pick Billy Price to the New York Giants for defensive tackle B.J. Hill, the Bengals announced Monday afternoon.

An earlier report via Twitter from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport was confirmed by The Enquirer’s Kelsey Conway before the trade was announced:

More from giants.com on Hill:

Hill did not play in Sunday’s preseason finale against the New England Patriots.

Speaking to the media Monday morning, Judge said Hill is a starting-caliber defensive lineman in the NFL. The Giants originally selected the 6-foot-3, 310-pounder in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Hill played in all 48 games (17 starts) during his three seasons with Big Blue, recording 7.5 sacks, 13 quarterback hits, 10 tackles for loss, and three passes defensed.

Price, a former Ohio State Buckeyes center, played in 42 games over three seasons for the Bengals, but made just one start last season. Without Price on the roster, the Bengals will now rely on Trey Hill as Trey Hopkins’ backup at center. Hill suffered a groin injury in Cincinnati’s final preseason game, and head coach Zac Taylor said he was unsure of the severity of the injury. The plan was for Hill to get a further evaluation on Monday.
