Trevor Bauers Season is Over – bleachernation.com

Although he reportedly intends to keep on fighting to clear his name, Los Angeles Dodgers righty Trevor Bauer’s MLB season is over.

While the league and criminal authorities continue to investigate allegations of sexual and physical abuse against Bauer, there has been yet another agreement to extend Bauer’s administrative leave from the game. This extension goes through the end of the regular season and also the postseason:

There must have been a consensus that whatever was coming would either not be resolved before the end of the season, or would result in a suspension that would at least last through the end of the season. Either way, Bauer’s camp must have known he could not come back in time (if the Dodgers would even have him):

Bauer, who signed a three-year, $102 million deal with the Dodgers before this season, made just 17 starts before he was placed on leave. Almost no one expects him to throw another pitch for the Dodgers at this point, and the bigger question is whether some other team is willing to pick him up in the future. It’s pretty hard to see given what has been alleged.
