Juan “Liquid|Hungrybox” Debiedma is known as one of the gods of Super Smash. Bros. Melee for his unique ability to make a pink marshmallow look unbeatable, but he’s also been finding good success as of late in the newest game in the series as both a player and commentator.
The competitive legend recently built a tier list for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s Ver. 12.0 update based on those experiences using characters like Jigglypuff and Mario.
Hungrybox broke up his placements between a handful of videos to explain his reasoning where he started at the very bottom, which is home to only two characters.
Probably surprising no one at this point, Little Mac is the lowest of the gigantic roster, but HBox says that doesn’t mean he’s a free victory.
The quick boxer can still put you in some nasty mixup situations in a grounded game though this plan is easily countered since there’s not much at all he can do when knocked in the air or off stage.
On the complete opposite end of the spectrum, Debiedma claims he is now a believer in Pyra / Mythra after seeing Smash Ultimate Summit and other events / players
The duo’s ability to freely switch between a speed and frame data monster to one with excellent KO options and setups is an extremely dangerous mix that’s now starting to take shape in the meta offline and online.
As for the newest character in the game, Kazuya, his results don’t place him near the top five yet, but HBox sees the early markings of a top tier contender.
