The 49ers received a bit of good news on the injury front Friday afternoon As Elijah Mitchell practiced for the first time all week, and Trey Sermon was no longer wearing a blue non-contact jersey. Sermon was cleared from the concussion protocol and is good to go.
Though Mitchell practiced, Friday being his first of the week likely means he won’t play. Shanahan said he’s “really holding out hope that Elijah can go.”
Shanahan said he’ll be more patient with Mitchell, considering the other running backs are “still catching up.” If Mitchell’s shoulder can’t get injured anymore, then he’ll play. Shanahan said it’s all about pain tolerance for Mitchell.
Arik Armstead (adductor), Javon Kinlaw (knee), and Emmanuel Moseley (knee) were all practicing during the portion that’s open to the media. That’s a good sign for each of those three, as they’ve been limited during the week.
Shanahan said if Moseley can’t play, it’ll be the same starters at cornerback as last week. Here’s a look at the 49ers final injury report:
The Green Bay Packers released their injury report, and their backup tackle, who was starting for David Bakhtiari, is listed as doubtful:
Doubtful: T Elgton Jenkins (ankle)
Questionable: TE Dominique Dafney (hip)
That means the Packers are down to their third-string left tackle and will likely have to shuffle offensive lineman around. Hello, pass rush.
