As we go into the weekend, the health of the field still involved remains a story worth following. Cameron Champ and Nick Watney withdrew from the Travelers after testing positive for COVID-19 ahead of Thursdays start, and on Friday, our first in-action withdrawal of the weekend came as Denny McCarthy pulled out after he checked favorable for the infection. The PGA Tour stated no other golf enthusiasts therefore far have checked positive.
Because of his own health issues around COVID-19, Jason Day requested additional screening for himself and his caddie and will play as a single on Saturday early morning. Day was coupled with Kevin Kisner and Kevin Chappell over the first 2 rounds and the PGA Tour said this is a precautionary measure.
