Hey, the Cubs DID reveal their preliminary 60-man roster after all! I wonder if well discover later what the hold-up was.
In any case, heres the preliminary group, with 39 gamers headed to Wrigley Field, 11 gamers headed to South Bend, and with 10 still-open areas:
Throughout Spring Training Part Two– I guess were calling it “Summer Camp” now– youll see some players over at the major league side relocation over to South Bend as they are cut. The big league roster for Opening Day will be 30 gamers.
On the whole, Im not right away seeing any shocks, though there are some names missing that I may otherwise have anticipated: Zack Short, Hernan Perez, Tyson Miller, Cory Abbott, Manny Rodriguez, Justin Steele, and others that will pertain to me as I absorb. As anticipated, leading prospects Brailyn Marquez, Miguel Amaya, and Brennen Davis get some time at South Bend, as does infield possibility Christopher Morel. Very interesting. Kid has severe benefit.
Aside from those potential customers, the other men who are slated for South Bend are lovely clear guys-you-would-call-up-if-you-had-a-need. No draft selects in the group in the meantime, and just a modest grouping of prospects, however once again, there are presently 10 open areas. We could see more additions in the coming weeks.
