Juventus 3 – Genoa 1: Initial reaction and random observations – Black & White & Read All Over

You desired some design points, you got them.

Holy cow. The goals Juventus scored versus Genoa in Tuesday nights 3-1 win at the Luigi Ferraris were both the minutes of private luster this team can show, however likewise the kind of “Whatever you can do, I can do better …” situation where it appears like the bar for scoring goals in this game was set extremely high right from the very first one.

And after that some.

The good part in all of this?

/ checks out the space/.

To that point, Juventus had not scored an objective, however seemed like it wasnt as awful as some of the first-half efficiencies weve seen in the Bologna and Lecce fixtures. Seeing as who scored those objectives– Dybala, Cristiano Ronaldo and Douglas Costa– it might not be a surprise to see them doing those types of things. That said, to see three goals of that quality put forth in one video game– hell, ONE HALF! We need more of that these days, and if that suggests scoring pretty goal after quite objective, then so be it, my pals.

Fortunately for us, we saw 3 of the very best goals weve seen all season.

If there were any ideas from folks either here or in the Italian press about Miralem Pjanic losing interest now that he understands hes going to Barcelona in a few months, lets simply take a look at how he reacted to Dybalas goal, shall we?

This is what we wished to see from this group knowing complete well that when Tuesday nights game began, Lazio had actually simply cut Juves lead down to one single point in Serie A. The pressure to address Lazio was there, just as much as it was for Juventus not to shoot themselves in the foot (once again) during a trip to the Marassi. It has been a home of scaries– there are plenty of other ways to describe it, trust me– for Juventus in the last few years, and this was looked at as another possible location where Juve might mistake if they didnt keep their act together.

Basically what Im trying to state is that Juventus just needed me to view. Undoubtedly.

Oh, and by the way, Pjanic also did this against Genoa: 101 touches, 92.4 percent pass completion and he tape-recorded his first help in Serie A play since NOVEMBER. Thatll do just great.
There was a brief conversation on Twitter between myself and fellow BWRAO associate Hunter after the Ronaldo objective: Who wouldnt wish to commemorate their goal with Carlo Pinsoglio? Pinsoglio is the cool uncle who is simply the life of the party whenever you seem him if Gigi Buffon is basically the papa of the group. Judging by how Pinsoglio acts on the bench and during goal events, hes most likely the life of the party when hes at house, too.
Some more fun with statistics, this is what Dybala completed at: goal, assist, 4 crucial passes and he finished nearly 95 percent of his passes. We do not know whether Dybala has actually truly reached his full physical fitness levels after handling COVID-19 for a number of months, but he damn well has come out of the suspension of play looking simply as good as he did prior to it. (And Im not just saying hes handsome, despite the fact that he is extremely good-looking.).
One final nugget of stats: Juan Cuadrado had four deals with, four interceptions and led the team in touches (again) with 119. Keep in mind, this is Juventus beginning right back were speaking about here, not a central midfielder like Pjanic or Rodrigo Bentancur. Thatll do.
Naturally you knew that Juves finest fullback nowadays would be someone who isnt even a best back. This season is so silly.
I would like to understand the radar weapon reading on Cristiano Ronaldos objective. That needs to be one of his best-struck shots of the season. Mattia Perin is an extremely reflex-y goalkeeper and even he had no possibility at stopping that shot. It was perfect placement on top of having as much velocity as any objective Ronaldo has scored this season.
And after that you have Douglas Costas objective which is just rediculous and then some.
Its simply that kind of ridiculous ability that makes Costa the difference-making sub– you understand, when the game is actually close– that this team needs right now. When you see what Costa has actually done in the last two video games off the bench compared to when he strikes the wall after 50 or 60 minutes as a starter, its pretty simple to figure out that striking the opposition with a fresh Costa as they truly begin to tire is the way to go right now.
And then you have Juventus protecting on Genoas goal which was … not terrific. At least they have the goals from earlier in the game to spotlight rather.

Pjanic is a great guy who actually does seem to love his teammates. Understanding complete well that he had simply protected a transfer to a brand-new club 24 hours earlier, to see him commemorate like this was a great pointer that he most definitely loves the current club hes at.

You will not discover any of us around here complaining about it.

RANDOM THOUGHTS AND OBSERVATIONS.

Not a bad thing to see just a couple of minutes after leaving of an hour-long work conference. From me to you, Juventus, thank you for providing us something to be happy about. We need more of that these days, and if that implies scoring pretty objective after pretty objective, then so be it, my friends.

Even though Genoa is a team that is not excellent at all and in a battle to not get relegated to Serie B, Juve required their big gamers to step up tonight. And with three moments of brilliance that caused goals, Juventus stars in attack did simply that.

About five seconds prior to Paulo Dybala scored his weaving and winding objective through the Genoa defense, I was sitting down at my desk and shooting up ESPN+. To that point, Juventus hadnt scored an objective, but seemed like it wasnt as dreadful as a few of the first-half performances weve seen in the Bologna and Lecce components. (Those werent fantastic!).

Viewing as who scored those objectives– Dybala, Cristiano Ronaldo and Douglas Costa– it might not be a surprise to see them doing those types of things. That stated, to see three objectives of that quality put forth in one video game– hell, ONE HALF!– and have them come at a time in the title race where Juventus might have seen its margin for mistake practically entirely go up in smoke if things didnt go right in Genoa, thats what makes them even better.

The more they want to make that a routine thing, then go for it.
