Nest makes its Seasonal Savings program free for all thermostat users – Engadget

To assist customers conserve energy (and money) this summer season, Nest is providing its Seasonal Savings feature free of charge to its connected thermostat users in the United States and many of Canada. The feature makes little tweaks to Nest thermostat settings to help in reducing energy consumption. By adjusting temperatures a fraction of a degree each day, the typical customer sees a 3 to 5 percent energy savings, Google says. If all users get involved, they might conserve countless dollars jointly.
If you have a Nest thermostat, youll see a notice asking if you d like to opt-in. Until now, Seasonal Savings were only readily available if a clients energy provider offered Seasonal Savings programs.
