Major League Soccer says its players are NOT getting the Fyre Festival treatment inside the Disney bubble– declaring the players who posted sad sandwich photos are NOT inside the restricted area.
Toronto FC protector Omar Gonzalez posted a pic Tuesday showing an “MLS Is Back” In-Room dining menu which describes some delicious-looking, expensive food choices ($ 65 for lunch!) … cut beside an unimpressive sando in a brown box.
He tweeted out, “Yummm” … leading people to believe the widely-touted Disney bubble was looking more like a sham than an attractive experience.
Omars colleague Eriq Zavaleta included fuel to the fire by posting another unappetizing sandwich pic. Not an excellent look.
Our MLS sources tell us … those 2 gamers are not yet in Orlando– theyre still in Toronto.
The league is not sure who shot the photos– however reps say the food was served at a quarantine website OUTSIDE the official bubble where gamers are needed to stay for 10 to 12 hours until they are cleared to get in.
There is basic food service at the quarantine website– like sandwiches, etc– but since its basically a stopover spot, the food service isnt as robust.
Once players are permitted into the Walt Disney World bubble environment, its a completely different story.
Were informed gamers will get “banquet meal” service served in their club meal spaces– therefore far, the feedback on the food has actually been super favorable.
Also, all players will have access to 4 dining establishments in the bubble– including Shulas Steak House, Todd English Bluezoo, Il Mulino, and Kimonos sushi dining establishment.
Were also told, “Players do not spend for meals.”
Yeah … the travel meal may not be the fanciest food in the world, but MLS insists theyre not pulling a Billy McFarland.
