The Detroit Tigers Fourth of July fireworks came early Saturday afternoon.
Soon before 2 p.m., No. 1 general pick Spencer Torkelson took the field for his first formal exercise of summer season camp.
The former the Arizona State slugger had his very first batting practice session at Comerica Park.

Torkelson, who played very first base at Arizona State, will begin playing 3rd base for the Tigers, the team announced when they drafted him June 10..
