Brummett, 35, was piloting a small airplane out of South Valley Regional Airport in West Jordan, Utah, when deputies with the Utah County Sheriffs Office received reports at around 8 a.m. that the aircraft crashed near package Elder Peak in American Fork Canyon, according to a news release.

Witnesses told cops that they saw the small airplane spiral out of view and a couple of minutes later on they heard the impact. They called 911 but hiked to the scene where they validated that the residents “died on effect.”.
Rescue groups were dispatched to the scene and likewise validated four dead residents.

Brummett, buddy Alex Blackhurst and his auntie and uncle, Elaine and Douglas Blackhurst were recognized as the victims.
The NTSB and FAA are examining the cause of the crash.
Brummett was prepared by the Phillies in 2007 where he played in the Phillies system for 5 years, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported. He only played in one MLB game in his 8 years in the minors.
