When Apple releases iOS 14 this fall, your iPhones home screen is going to look extremely various. And, for the first time, you can now move widgets out of the Today View and onto your house screen.
For example, if you examine the weather condition and after that your calendar first thing in the early morning, the Smart Stack will likely include both of those apps and immediately show you the forecast followed by your agenda the very first time you open your iPhone in the morning. If you regularly check your Activity statistics after dinner, the stack will reveal you the Activity widget around that time of day.
You dont have to leave the widget stacking to Apple. You also can create your own Smart Stack, curating the included apps to your preference. Listed below well walk you through how to tailor a stack..
Keep in mind, iOS 14 is in early beta for designers and not settled. The functions highlighted below might and likely will change before its release later on this year. We will update this post as Apple releases modifications.

Produce a customized Smart Stack similar to you would an app folder.
You do not need to learn any new steps or methods to construct your own stack– if youve ever deleted an app or reorganized your home screen, youre more than prepared. If you havent, well, its still easy..
Prior to iOS 14, you needed to long-press on an app icon in order to trigger the Edit Home Screen feature. That technique is still available, however theres a faster way now:.
1. Long-press on your screen between the apps in the dock and the first row of apps on your home screen, like this:.
You can now continue an app icon or any blank area on your screen to begin editing your home screen..

2. Tap on the + icon in the top-left corner of the screen and after that scroll through the list of readily available widgets..
Find one of the widgets you want to include in your tailored stack. You can either drop the widget and drag to your screen or tap on the + at the top of the screen.
Keep in mind, any widgets you contribute to a stack will require to be the same size, so you cant have one little, two medium and 3 big widgets in your stack. I advise dragging and dropping additional widgets to your house screen. It conserves you a step given that youre going to end up moving it yourself anyway..
Just keep stacking widgets up until youre pleased..

3. Stacking widgets follows the exact same procedure as creating a folder for apps– drag one widget on top of another..
Repeat that process, including widgets up until youre happy with your production. As far as I can inform right now, theres no limit to how lots of widgets you can include to a stack.
Scroll through them on your own, or let your iPhone decide what youll see..

4. If you alter your mind and wish to get rid of a widget or change their order, long-press on the stack and then choose Edit Stack from the popup menu. Change the order by dragging each widgets name up or down..
You can eliminate a widget by swiping to the left across the name to reveal the Delete button.
You can arrange or delete widgets with just a few taps..
