Key dates for the NHL playoffs and offseason, plus geeking out over CBA minutiae – The Athletic

On Tuesday, the NHLPAs executive board authorized sending a tentative CBA arrangement to its membership for a full vote. The results of that vote will be announced on Friday, however in the meantime, some of the dates and other details in that memorandum of understanding were acquired by The Athletic.
Lets start with some key dates, with the caution by an NHL source that all these dates “are fluid” and some dates in the MOU have already moved:
The very first buy out duration starts on the later of Sept. 25 or the beginning of the Stanley Cup Final.
The last possible day for the conclusion of the Stanley Cup Final will be Oct. 2.
The 2020 NHL Draft will tentatively be held on Oct. 6. Its also kept in mind that the draft should follow the conclusion of the Stanley Cup Final and precede free firm.
Free company begins on the later of Oct. 9 or the conclusion of the Stanley Cup Final plus 7 days. There will no longer be an …
