Inside the NBA Bubble: Nasal swabs, my four walls and Dwight parties alone – The Athletic

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla.– This is the start of what could be the last, excellent American sportswriting assignment.
I am stationed inside Walt Disney World, at the Coronado Springs Resort hotel, locked for seven days behind a cold, beige door. Im surrounded in these 314 square feet by Keurig cups, 2 queen beds, a truck load of hand sanitizer, the 4 gallons of ready-made margaritas I brought from home, and a fridge the size of the one I brought up 3 flights of stairs to my college dorm for first semester, freshman year.
Simply prior to 10 oclock Sunday night, 2 gentlemen knocked on my door from BioReference Labs. They are the only individuals besides me who are enabled in my space. Therefore long as the cotton swab they carefully shove into my nose and the one they brush along the inner walls of my throat do not return any COVID-19 all week, Ill be permitted out of the room with limited access to “the bubble.”
